The Shoreshim (“roots”) Project: An Adventure in Theater, Art, and Music for 10-12-year-olds.

The Shoreshim Project is a six-week investigation into who we are, by looking at where and who we come from. Each child will research their family history by interviewing family members and focus on one ancestor who immigrated to this country. We will then bring this ancestor to life through writing, song, and art making, and share our ancestors with the wider Kol Hai community in a culminating performance. Children who love to perform, sing, write and make art are encouraged to join.

The project will be facilitated by mother and daughter team Rachel and Alice Swersey, who are art and music teachers.

We will meet every Tuesday from 4:30-6 from May 9-June 13 at a private home in Gardiner, NY. Snack and materials will be provided. Registration limited to 8 children and is on a first come first served basis. The cost for the 6-week session is $60 per child. Please email [email protected] to register and for more details.
